“What fascinated me is the way in which man is constantly reinventing himself through technology… A burgeoning extension of tactile and benevolent devices all around us assist us, perpetuate us and turn us into young agile gods to which the phantom of the world would respond, doing exactly as told, obviously”, Alain Damasio explained in his Ted X conference, Very Human Rather Than Transhuman, on October 6, 2014.
As an extension of the Ghost in the Machine exhibition, at Lieu 9 CHRONIQUES offers an experience with narrative works, VR or augmented reality films built on a hybridization of cinematographic conventions and video game mechanisms.
4 stories that recount a contemporary odyssey between the real and virtual world, between the world of the living and the dead, between the present and future world, where our memories can be downloaded, and even in a city in 2046 under the law of unlimited surveillance and marketing.
Works that extend our consciousness into a virtual space and where, conversely, intelligent factors invade real physical space.
