This solo exhibition showcasing the work of Amélie Bouvier explores the distance that separates us from the stars, playing with the myths and narratives that shape our conceptions of reality and our relationship to the cosmos. Inspired by the US-based Harvard Astronomical Archive’s Photographic Glass Plate Collection, which was established at the end of the 19th century and is still used today for scientific and historical purposes, the works on display reflect the fragility of our personal and collective heritage, but also that of the human experience of the stars and of space.

A reflection on our uses of the technologies used to study what the stars have to tell us, from extraordinary scientific advances to contemplating the enormity of the universe. It examines our ability to “grasp the sheer size of the skies above and the shadows of the Earth”.
