The night has always been seen as a space to be controlled by the political powers that be, an authorised celebration within a limited period of leisure, a temporary relief from work and social time. Dreams, sensuality, festivities alter the well-established balance between work and play, reason and passion, abstraction and emotion, and compensate for the mistrust of the future and progress, the lack of investment in the future.
